I'm a bit wonky on this one, mrbear. You must realise that the lobster may attack the tilapia when it isn't aware (when it sleeps, for example), and the tilapia are greedy fish and the lobster won't get much food. I put in a good amount of pellets every morning and evening and I can tell you not one of them hits the substrate, all thanks to my Tiger Tilapia.

Before anyone answers can I ask why you ask the question? Have you seen them together abroad by any chance?

Another one? :)

Except for Southern Africa based species, I don't think so. Tilapia on the market these days are tropical for the most part. Even if the can tolerate slightly cooler temperatures, I don't think it is a good idea.

Wow! You could've asked them all together! :D

And this time, yes. Just make sure the plec gets some food!

There are a number of places where tilapia and koi are housed together in the states. I think Mr Bear may have seen that, hence the question.

Not a good mix by any stretch of the imagination!

Thanks all!

Sorry for so many questions, my parents have a huge pond and it's filled with Tilapia and where asking me about it.

Thanks,
Juan Attias
