Re: A New Fishkeeper = sold a product from Amazon that killed my fish

theoretically digital is more reliable and if built correctly will default to the off position, so cool fish rather than hot ones. But imo two is better than 1 hence my previous statement.

Re: gravel cleaner

syphon type gravel cleaner used at water change time is the best imo as it removes the waste from the tank entirely, unlike the electric types that rely on a filter bag to remove the 'lumps' but what passes through the bag remains in the tank.

Re: A New Fishkeeper = sold a product from Amazon that killed my fish

As stated previously, I am a new fishkeeper. I hadn't read everything. I didn't realise thatcos of the dangers I should have probably had 2 x small heaters. But I am not alone in having my fish wiped out. For me it feels like something needs to be done legally about this. Maybe make new fishkeepers...

Re: What's wrong with my aquarium?? Please help

firstly you need to decide to keep fish or keep turtle, sooner or later the turtle will eat the fish. You have no basking light for the turtle, no uvb for the turtle and the water is too deep for the turtle if it is only a baby. friendly bacteria live on surfaces, very little exists in the water so ...

Re: New fancy goldfish help - possible finrot

with finrot clean water is best and only treat if that fails to help imo. Trouble is that the smaller the quantity of the water (the smaller the tank) the harder it is to keep the water 'clean'. trade tanks work on the principle that 1, the fish are only there until purchased and 2, most trade syste...

Re: New fancy goldfish help - possible finrot

http://injaf.org/aquarium-fish/the-goldfish-section/what-size-tank-for-goldfish/ basically tank size is very important for continued health and well being of the fish into the future, any damage caused by a small tank will more than likely effect the fish into its future life. So as for tank, as big...

Re: Dying fish - swim bladder

read again concentrate on nitrate and nitrite, two different things. I would suggest getting a filter that does not have cartridges or one that can be modified not to need them replacing, the idea of successful filtration is to provide and keep a healthy colony of beneficial bacteria, when changing ...
